Description
These cheese puffs are light and airy and very savory. The little gems are so addictive, you may want to make 2 batches.
Ingredients
- 8 T. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
- 2 t. chopped fresh thyme or rosemary
- freshly ground black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
- In a medium sized saucepan, add water, butter and salt; bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium; add flour all at once; stir rapidly, The mixture will form a dough ball that will pull away from the sides of the pan. Use a wooden spoon to stir as the dough will be rather thick. Continue to cook for several minutes.
