When you're already grilling chicken or burgers, why not use it to make a wonderful side dish? These cabbage steaks are easy and quick to make with just a few ingredients but most importantly, they are delicious.
1 large head green cabbage
olive oil
salt and pepper
toppings : BBQ sauce, Ranch dressing, pat of butter, shaved Parmesan cheese, blue cheese or feta crumbles, bacon crumbles, optional
Preheat a grill to medium heat.
Place the cabbage head on its stem; cut vertically into 1 inch slices. Place the cabbage steak slices on a flat surface; brush both sides generously with olive oil; sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.
Place the cabbage steaks directly onto the preheated grill. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side or until crispy. Remove from grill.
Serve immediately with desired toppings.
