Sometimes you just want a dessert all to yourself. This one is a seasonal favorite that's easy to make and so good.
1 Gala apple, thinly sliced
1 t. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 T. + 2 t. light brown sugar, divided
1/4 t. ground cinnamon, divided
2 T. all-purpose flour
1 T. coarsely chopped pecans
1 T. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/8 t. kosher salt
vanilla ice cream, for serving, optional
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Toss apple slices, lemon juice, 2 t. brown sugar and 1/8 t. cinnamon in a medium bowl; pack into a heatproof ramekin or 8 oz. baking dish.
Mix flour, pecans, butter, salt, remaining 1 T. brown sugar and 1/8 t. cinnamon in a medium bowl, squeezing and crumbling with fingers until mixture comes together in little clumps. Scatter over the apples.
Bake the Crisp until apples are bubbling and top is golden brown, about 35 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
