Description
Make this easy side dish in less than 30 minutes. It's prepared with a few simple ingredients and is just full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 T. butter
- 1/2 c. orzo pasta
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 c. uncooked white rice
- 2 c. chicken broth/stock (or vegetable broth/stock)
- Kosher salt (might not be needed this if using store-bought broth)
- freshly chopped parsley, for serving
Steps
- Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add orzo; cook, stirring until it turns a golden brown. Add onion; cook until onion is translucent. Add garlic; cook for about 1 minute.
- Pour broth/stock and white rice into the skillet; stir; let it come to a boil; reduce heat to low, making sure it's still simmering; cover. Simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, 20-25 minutes.
- Remove from heat; let stand several minutes. Fluff with fork. Serve with freshly chopped parsley.
