This popular cocktail has its roots in Florence, Italy. It is considered an apéritif. It's typically stirred, not shaken.

Ingredients

• 1 oz. gin
• 1 oz. Campari
• 1 oz. sweet vermouth
• orange peel, for garnish

Steps

1. Place ice in a mixing glass or a cocktail shaker; add gin, Campari, and vermouth; stir until well-chilled. Strain into an ice filled rocks glass.
2. Twist the orange peel over the cocktail to release the orange essence; drop the peel into the cocktail or place it on the rim.
3. Serve.
