Description

Make your own homemade ice cream without churning or any kind of machine with just a freezer safe mason jar and 4 ingredients. Add flavor ingredients of choice if you wish and freeze for a few hours.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 3 T. cane sugar, honey or maple syrup
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • large pinch of salt
  • **optional ingredients for flavor choices plus matching food coloring to enhance color, if desired

Steps

  1. In a freezer-safe*, wide mouth Mason pint jar, combine heavy cream, sweetener of choice, vanilla extract and salt.
  2. Screw on the lid, close tightly and shake until the mixture is almost doubled in size and about the consistency of brownie batter, about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the jar in the freezer for about 2-3 hours. Shake every 20-30 minutes to incorporate any mix-ins and prevent iciness.
