Description
Make your own homemade ice cream without churning or any kind of machine with just a freezer safe mason jar and 4 ingredients. Add flavor ingredients of choice if you wish and freeze for a few hours.
Ingredients
- 1 c. heavy whipping cream, cold
- 3 T. cane sugar, honey or maple syrup
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- large pinch of salt
- **optional ingredients for flavor choices plus matching food coloring to enhance color, if desired
Steps
- In a freezer-safe*, wide mouth Mason pint jar, combine heavy cream, sweetener of choice, vanilla extract and salt.
- Screw on the lid, close tightly and shake until the mixture is almost doubled in size and about the consistency of brownie batter, about 5 minutes.
- Place the jar in the freezer for about 2-3 hours. Shake every 20-30 minutes to incorporate any mix-ins and prevent iciness.
