These dessert ravioli are tasty little gems made with wonton wrappers and Nutella. They are easy to make and are great anytime of the year, but make special holiday treats.
1/2 c. very cold whole-milk ricotta cheese, drained
1 T. powdered sugar
pinch kosher salt
2 T. Nutella chocolate-hazelnut spread
12 wonton wrappers
1 large egg, beaten
vegetable oil, for frying
4 oz. white chocolate, melted
chopped hazelnuts, for garnish
1/2 c. sliced strawberries, optional
Mix ricotta cheese with powdered sugar and salt; stir in Nutella.
Place 6 wonton wrappers on a clean surface; place about 1 T. Nutella-ricotta mixture in the center of each wrapper. Brush the edges of the wrappers with beaten egg; place the remaining wrappers on the tops, pressing out the air and ensuring that the edges are tightly sealed.
Heat 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When oil is 350 degrees F, add ravioli; fry, flipping one time halfway through, until they're golden and crisp on both sides, about 1 1/2 minutes.
Place on a platter or a plate. Drizzle white chocolate across the tops. Add sliced strawberries and chopped walnuts for garnish, if desired.
