Spaghetti alla puttanesca ("whore's style spaghetti" in Italian) is a spicy, tangy, and salty Italian pasta dish made popular by the ladies of the evening.
8 ounces pasta
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chunky style crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3 tablespoons capers
20 black olives, pitted and coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook pasta in water for 8 to 10 minutes al dente; drain.
Heat oil in a skillet over low heat; sautee garlic in oil until golden brown.
Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato paste, capers, olives, and red pepper flakes.
Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Mix pasta with sauce and serve.
