Classic Pea Salad

Description
This is a great dish to make when you have limited time but want a delicious side dish. You just throw together a few ingredients, refrigerate 1 hour, and voila, that's it.
Ingredients
16 oz. frozen green peas
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 t. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
1 small red onion, chopped
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled or 2.8 oz. bag Real Bacon Bits

Remove frozen peas from the bag; place in a colander; let thaw slightly while making the salad dressing.
In a large bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sugar, salt and pepper with onion, cheese and bacon. Add peas; stir gently to combine.
Refrigerate the salad, covered, for at least 1 hour before serving.
12 servings.
*The salad can be made 2 days in advance. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
