Replace that box mix with these easy to make and delicious from scratch biscuits. Make them for a special occasion or an everyday meal.
Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1 t. granulated sugar
- 3/4 t. salt
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
- 1 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, (4 oz.)
- 1 c. cold buttermilk
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted and cooled for 5 minutes
- Topping:
- 2 T. melted butter
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 t. dry parsley
Steps
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a light colored baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Stir in the cheddar cheese; set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together the buttermilk and melted butter until small lumps form.
