Easy mac and cheese made with three cheeses and Alfredo sauce is tasty and filling. Serve it alone as a meal or as a side dish.
3 T. butter
3 T. all-purpose flour
1 jar Alfredo sauce
4 c. whole milk
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. shredded Asiago cheese
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. elbow macaroni
1 lb. penne rigate pasta
chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat; stir in the flour until well combined.
Pour in the Alfredo sauce and milk; cook over medium heat until it becomes thick, about 4 - 6 minutes. Stir in Cheddar, Asiago and Parmesan cheeses until combined and melted. Set aside; keep warm.
Add the pasta to a large pot of well salted boiling water; cook 5-7 minutes or until tender; drain.
Combine pasta with the cheese sauce; stir until well mixed. Transfer macaroni and cheese to a 13 × 9 casserole dish.
Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until the top is browned.
Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
Serve.
