This is the perfect side dish to take to a potluck, BBQ, picnic or just enjoy at home with the family. You'll be amazed at how easy and delicious they are.
1 lb. bacon, diced
bacon drippings, reserved
1 large yellow onion, finely diced
4 (14 oz. each) cans pork and beans (56 oz. total)
1/2 c. dark molasses
1/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. ketchup
2 T. prepared yellow mustard
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Dice the bacon; cook in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Transfer from the skillet to a paper towel lined plate. Reserve the bacon drippings.
Add the diced onions to the skillet with the bacon drippings; saute until translucent and soft.
In a large bowl, combine beans, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce; stir in the cooked onions and bacon; pour into a 3 quart baking dish.
Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes, or until heated through and bubbling.
