You don't have to serve bland green beans any more! These canned beans are made in a savory but sweet glaze which makes them almost addictive.
3 - 15 oz. cans cut green beans
6 slices bacon
2 T. unsalted butter
¼ c. pure maple syrup
3 T. soy sauce
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. onion powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook bacon using your preferred method. When brown and crispy, drain the bacon on a paper towel lined plate. Leave whole or cut into pieces.
To make the sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan; add soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic powder and onion powder; stir well.
Drain liquid from the beans; transfer beans to a casserole dish.
Pour the sauce over the green beans; stir until the beans are evenly coated in the sauce. Top with the bacon.
Bake 40 minutes.
Serve immediately.
6 servings.
Tips: For gluten free, use tamari instead of soy sauce. For paleo friendly, swap soy sauce to coconut aminos and increase the amount to 1/4 cup.
