Amish Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad

Description

Turn fresh broccoli and cauliflower into an amazing dish that is sweet and tangy. It's both a salad and side dish that goes well with just about any main dish.

Ingredients

3/4 - 1 c. Miracle Whip (NOT mayonnaise)
1 1/2 T. sugar
1 1/2 T. white vinegar
1/2 t. salt
2 t. dried onion flakes, or diced red onion
6-8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
4 c. chopped fresh broccoli
4 c. chopped fresh cauliflower
1/2 - 1 c. small cubed Cheddar or Colby Jack cheese

Dressing: In a large bowl, stir together Miracle Whip, sugar, vinegar, and salt; add bacon and onion flakes, stir well.

Chop broccoli and cauliflower into small chunks.

Toss broccoli, cauliflower, and cheese into the dressing; stir well.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Stir before serving.

10 servings.

*Tip: If you don't like a salad too heavily dressed, start with 3/4 c. Miracle Whip. This may not seem like enough at first, but after it sits for an hour, it will be more creamy.
