It's easy to elevate boring fries to a higher level with a bit of garlic and Parmesan cheese. Serve them as an appetizer, snack or as a side dish.
16 oz. bag frozen shoestring fries
2 T. unsalted butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 t. garlic salt
1/8 t. freshly ground black pepper
pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
2 T. fresh parsley, chopped
On a baking sheet, bake fries according to package instructions.
While fries are baking, melt butter and minced garlic in a medium pan over low heat. Cook garlic until slightly toasted, about 90 seconds. Add in garlic salt, pepper, cayenne, and 2 T. Parmesan cheese. Cook just until cheese is melted, stirring to combine.
When fries are crispy, remove baking sheet from the oven. Pour butter mixture over fries, tossing to coat.
Transfer fries to a serving platter. Sprinkle fries with the remaining cheese. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley.
