Canned beans, onion, bacon, BBQ sauce and a few other ingredients make the best, easy side dish. Serve it at picnics, gatherings or potlucks.
4 slices bacon, chopped
1/3 c. chopped yellow onion
2 - 28 oz. cans baked beans
1/2 c. BBQ sauce
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. yellow mustard
1 T. brown sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place bacon in a 5 qt. dutch oven over medium heat. When bacon is halfway cooked, add onion; cook over medium heat until bacon is crispy and onion is translucent, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add beans, BBQ sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar; stir until well combined.
Place dutch oven in the preheated oven; bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes.*
Remove from the oven and allow beans to rest 5 minutes.
Serve.
6-8 servings.
*Beans could also be transferred to a greased 9x13 casserole dish and baked for 30 minutes, checking beans at 30 minutes because they are spread out might cook faster.
