Why use a big pot of water to cook fresh ears of corn when you can just use your grill? Soak the cobs in water with the husks on, cook them on the grill, keeping the husks on until done.
4 fresh ears of corn with husks and silk on
1 T. olive oil ,for direct grilling
2 T. butter
salt and pepper, to taste
To Grill Corn in Husks:
Peel back the corn husks but not detaching them from the bottom of the cob. Remove all silk; fold husks back into place to cover the corn.
Place ears of corn in a sink or large bowl of water to soak for at least 15 minutes or soak overnight, if needed.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, about 375 to 425 degrees F.
Remove corn from the water; shake off excess so it's not dripping. Place cobs on the hot grill; cook 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.
Once corn is cooked to your liking, remove from the grill; peel off husks and any silks that may be left.
Serve corn with butter, salt and pepper.
