Enjoy rice krispies treats and s'mores together in one heavenly dessert. It's easy with crispy rice cereal, graham cracker crumbs, Hershey's chocolate bars, marshmallows and browned butter.
8 T. butter, sliced into tablespoons
16 oz. bag mini-marshmallows
6 c. Rice Krispies cereal
1 sleeve graham crackers, roughly chopped
4 Hershey’s bars
3/4 bag large marshmallows
Line 9×13 inch pan with aluminum foil; spray with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
In a large pot, add butter; place over medium heat. Stirring frequently or possibly constantly, melt butter and continue to cook butter until brown specks appear; immediately remove from heat.
Add marshmallows; stir and stir until they're melted. Add rice cereal and chopped graham crackers, stirring to combine.
Add half of the rice cereal mixture to the prepared pan, gently pressing to form the bottom layer; place Hershey’s bars evenly on top of rice krispie mixture.
For the marshmallow layer, choose one of these 3 ways to brown the marshmallows: 1. Place the marshmallows on top of chocolate and then, using a creme brulee torch, brown the marshmallows. 2. Turn on the broiler. Place marshmallows on top of chocolate layer, then place under broiler for 1-2 minutes until marshmallows are brown. 3. Place marshmallows on skewers and brown on top of a gas stove top.
Top the browned marshmallows with the remaining rice cereal mixture, pressing it out evenly.
When cool, cut into squares.
Serve.
