Preheat oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box, which is usually 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch casserole/baking dish.

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. Pour the batter into yhe prepared dish.

Bake the cake for the specified time on the box, usually between 25-35 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is still warm, poke holes throughout the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon or something similar.

In a medium bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and coconut cream together; pour mixture over the cake, filling the holes as much as possible.

Allow the cake to cool completely, which enables it to absorb the milk mixture thoroughly.

Once cooled, spread the shredded sweetened coconut evenly over the cake.

Heat the chocolate frosting in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds, or until it reaches a pourable consistency. Pour the frosting evenly over the coconut layer.

Garnish with more shredded coconut or almond slivers for added texture and flavor, if desired.

Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to set before serving, to make cutting the cake easier and to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve.

12 servings.
