Celebrate Easter with these Oreo cookie balls shaped and decorated like Easter eggs. They are fun to make for kids and adults and are soft and delicious too.
8 oz. cream cheese package, at room temperature
19.1 oz. package Oreo cookies (any kind will work, golden Oreos or lemon Oreos are especially yummy)
2 c. white almond bark or colorful candy melts or combo
colorful Easter sprinkles or gel icing
In a food processor, finely crush the cookies into crumbs.
Place the cookie crumbs and cream cheese in a large bowl; use a hand mixer to blend together until combined.
Use a 1 1/2 T. scoop to form the cookie mixture into balls; gently shape the balls into an egg shapes.
Place egg shapes on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan; place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt the chocolates. Melt the almond bark or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
Use 2 forks to dip each egg in the chocolate; gently shake off any excess. Place eggs on the prepared sheet pan; immediately decorate with sprinkles.
20 servings.
Refrigerate eggs.
Tips:
*You can use almond bark or candy melts for this recipe.
**To add more eye-popping color, drizzle a different color on top of the eggs.
