Make your grapes colorful and fun to eat with this simple process. You can tailor them for special holidays or events by changing the jello flavors, if desired.
1 bag red seedless grapes
1 bag green seedless grapes
2 (6 oz.) boxes strawberry jello (or favorite flavor)
2 (3.9 oz.) boxes green apple jello (or favorite flavor)
Discard all of the stems from the grapes; rinse grapes well in a colander; drain; shake off excess water.
Prepare 2 bowls, filling the first with the red grapes and the second with the green grapes. Then, fill each bowl to the top with water. Depending on the size of the bowls, you might have to do half of the grapes at a time. Keep the grapes in the water until you are ready to roll them in the dry jello powder.
Pour the strawberry jello powder onto one plate and the green apple jello powder on another plate.
Line a baking sheet that will fit inside your freezer with parchment paper.
Take 5-6 grapes directly from the water to the jello powder. DO NOT shake off the excess water! Roll the grapes around in the powder until they're well coated. Gently shake excess powder off of the grapes after coating. Use toothpicks, tongs, or spoons to remove the grapes from the powder. Place grapes on the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat until all of the grapes have been coated or you when run out of jello powder.
Place the baking sheet with the grapes to the freezer. Freeze for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, you can transfer the grapes to freezer bags, and store frozen until ready to serve.
While thawing, the jello colors may begin to mix, so keep them frozen until ready to serve.
Makes 4-6 cups of grapes.
