This no bake dessert is easy, quick and scrumptious. It's made with lady fingers, cream cheese, heavy whipping cream and coffee-flavored liquer or strong sweetened coffee.
Filling:
8 oz. package cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. heavy whipping cream
2 T. coffee-flavored liqueur or very strong sweetened coffee*
Cake:
1/3 c. water
2 T. coffee-flavored liqueur or very strong sweetened coffee
7 or 7.1 oz. package ladyfingers
1/2 c. chopped toasted hazelnuts, divided
1 oz. square semi-sweet baking chocolate, grated
Filling:
Beat cream cheese in a bowl, scraping the bowl often, until light and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and whipping cream. Beat, scraping the bowl often, until stiff peaks form. Gently stir in the 2 T. liqueur.
Cake:
In another bowl, stir together the water and 2 T. liqueur.
Split the ladyfingers in half lengthwise. Place half of them in a 9x9 inch glass baking dish, cutting ladyfingers to fit, covering the entire bottom of dish.
Sprinkle the ladyfingers with half of the water/liqueur mixture and 1/4 c. hazelnuts; top with half of the filling mixture. Sprinkle half of the grated chocolate over filling. Repeat the layers, ending with grated chocolate. If desired, you can sprinkle some Hershey's cocoa powder on top.
Cover; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
Serve.

*Very strong sweetened coffee can be made by stirring together 1/4 c. instant espresso powder or instant coffee granules, 2 T. sugar and 1/2 c. boiling water.
