Slow Cooker Copycat Olive Garden Chicken and Pasta

Description

This 5 star recipe is great for pot lucks, holiday gatherings or family dinners. It's super simple to make with just a few ingredients. Your slow cooker will do all of the work.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
16 oz. bottle Olive Garden Italian dressing
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz. cream cheese block
16 oz. penne pasta, cooked
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Preheat the slow cooker on the heat setting that you will be using, 20 minutes before adding the food.

Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray on the bottom and the sides right before adding the chicken.

Place the chicken in the slow cooker lying flat. Pour all of the Olive Garden dressing over the chicken. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top. Place the block of cream cheese on top.

Cover the slow cooker; cook for 6 hours on Low or 4 hours on High. DO NOT uncover while the chicken is cooking.

When the chicken is almost done, cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain; set aside.

Using 2 forks, shred the chicken.

Sprinkle 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese over the top of the chicken. Add in the drained pasta; stir until well combined.

Serve hot.

6 servings.

*Tip: To cut back on the saltiness, use a little less Italian dressing and replace it with water or salt-free chicken broth.
