If you love the Starbuck cake pops, but don't like the price, this recipe is for you. It takes a little time, but it's so worth it. It's made with a vanilla cake mix, frosting, and pretty candy melts.

Ingredients

1 box vanilla cake mix with the oil, water and eggs listed on the directions
1/3 c. French vanilla frosting
12 oz. bag light pink candy melts

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or two 8x8 inch round cake pans.

Beat cake mix, water, oil, and eggs together in a bowl. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan(s).

Bake until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven; let the cake cool completely.

Crumble cake with a fork in a large bowl. Stir the frosting into the crumbled cake; cover; freeze until chilled. Tip: It’s easier to roll and shape the moist cake and frosting mixture into perfectly round balls if it’s cold.

Use clean hands to roll the mixture into evenly sized balls.

Freeze again until balls are hard.

Once frozen, give them another little roll to smooth out the sides, then place on a baking sheet.

Melt the candy melts in the microwave or in a double boiler.

Dip each lollipop stick into the melted pink chocolate; stick into one of the cake pop balls; repeat. Place back in freezer until they're solid.

When solid, gently dip the balls into the melted candy melts or spoon it onto the balls; twirl to coat.

Decorate with white sprinkles, if desired.

Place them upright in a styrofoam block, or a box with holes punched to hold them. Let harden.

15 servings.
