This is a really quick, easy, and delicious cake. It starts with a boxed spice cake mix, canned apple pie filling, spices, butter and pecans all dumped in a baking pan.
15.25 oz. box spice cake mix
2 - 21 oz. cans apple pie filling
1 t. ground cinnamon*
1 t. ground nutmeg*
1 t. ground allspice*
1 T. white sugar
3/4 c. butter, cut into cubes
1 c. chopped pecans
ice cream or whipped topping, for serving
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Pour the apple pie filling into a 9x13" baking pan.
In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and sugar*; sprinkle over the apple pie filling.
Pour the dry cake mix over the apple pie filling; dot with butter; scatter the pecans on top.
Bake until the cake is brown on top and bubbling on the sides, about 45 - 60 minutes.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
