Ingredients

• 18.25 oz. package white cake mix
• 1 1/4 c. water
• 1/3 c. vegetable oil
• 3 egg whites
• 1 c. chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs (Oreos)
• 3 c. powdered sugar, divided
• 3/4 c. shortening
• 1 t. vanilla extract
• 2 egg whites
• 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos)

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9" round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, oil, and egg whites with an electric mixer on high speed for 2 minutes. Gently stir in crushed cookies. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
3. Bake for 25 - 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans; remove from pans; cool completely on racks.
