Serve these treats for holiday gatherings or anytime you need a crunchy, sweet treat. They make a great hostess or teacher gift too.
Ingredients
- 3 c. mini-pretzels
- 1 c. unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 c. packed light or dark brown sugar
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 1 c. milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans or almonds, optional
- sea salt, to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar; stir continuously until the mixture starts to boil. Allow it to boil for about 3-4 minutes without stirring until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat; stir in the vanilla extract.
