For years the "Scary Lucy" statue has been a source of hate and ridicule as people around the world mocked its scary features that maligns that of the actuall legendary actress Lucille Ball. The statue was made to honor the actress in her hometown in Saddle River, N.J. but the original statue looked nothing like her.

Years later, a new statue was unveiled in Lucille Ball Memorial Park in the western New York village of Celoron that was made by sculptor Carolyn Palmer. The new bronze statue was unveiled on what would've been Lucille's 105th birthday. It is noticeably more similar looking to the actress and wears a polka-dot dress.

"Well, it's been quite a ride," Celeron Mayor Scott Schrecengost said during the unveiling ceremony. "A little over a year ago, we got beat up pretty good."
