When Victoria’s Secret advertisement about the "Perfect Body" came out, many people around the world (mostly women) were immediately troubled by the glaring image that VS had about women's bodies. Models who are all skinny, fit and stunning represent the "perfect body" campaign that VS wanted to tell that world and plenty of women are not accepting it.
To counter that message, Dear Kate, a New York City-based retailer, made a parody of the image using women of all sizes and backgrounds to pose for a photo that is the antithesis of the “Perfect Body” ad.
“Through this photo, we showcase women who are often neglected by the media and traditional retailers,” a blog post on the company’s website says. “We show the multitude of shapes perfect bodies can take.”
