If there's one book out there that's making the entire world go gaga right now, it's probably Suzanne Collins' THE HUNGER GAMES.

Set in the post-apocalyptic world of America, the book features the harsh cruelty of the nation called Panem. Here we meet the heroine of the story Katniss Everdeen who has been chosen as one of the tributes in the game called: Hunger Games.

Hunger Games is a game where 24 "tributes" from the 12 districts that make up panem, are forced to fight to the death until only one comes out. These tributes are actually kids that range from 12-18 years old. It is the Capitol's (the main city) way of punishing the other districts for their rebellion 74 years ago.

Katniss enters the arena with the other 23 tributes and we see her transform from a poor but hardworking girl to the symbol of the rebellion.
