Weird Food: Kiviaq (Fermented Dead Birds)

Yes, a bunch of dead birds eaten raw is disgusting but humans eat plenty of raw things everyday right? What makes this different.

Well it's the fermentation process actually. The Inuit people in Greenland has discovered a really weird way to preserve food for winter. They stuff about 300-500 dead auk birds inside a sack of seal's skin and then seal that with the seal's fat as to keep the flies out. The fermentation process takes about 3 months or even as long as 18 months. So they essentially let the birds rot inside a dead animal's skin, then take it out during the harsh winter when nothing's left to eat, and eat the bird raw. It's considered a delicacy mostly served during celebrations. How twisted is that?
