What if you knew exactly when you would die?

In a post-apocalyptic world, genetics turns into a deadly killing machine. Humanities quest to create the perfect human species has gone awry and left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. This leaves a world filled with a desperate need to live and crimes of unspeakable length.

By the age of 16, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. That's not the only problem she has. Taken as one of the captive brides sold to rich men, she vows that she would escape from her new husband, Linden. However, things are not as simple as they seem to be. She's forbidden to go out or even do anything else without being monitored and no one to help her except for Gabriel, a manservant she's getting comfortable with.

Would Rhine's fate be sealed or would she be able to regain her freedom in the end?
