CEO Marissa Mayer as a new mother seems to empathize with new parents and recently yahoo announced to let employees stay at home for longer period. So new yahoo employee moms can stay at home for 16 weeks, dads can enjoy paternity leave for 8 weeks and all new parents get an extra $500 from Yahoo.

Since Marissa started running yahoo, we are seeing so many changes but this is one of the latest attempt s which is already being appreciated by yahoo employees. This decision is mainly taken by the CEO to catch up with other tech powerhouses and to lure talents.

Yahoo was lagging behind for several reasons and this might be the start to catch up with other Silicon Valley giants like Google and Facebook.
