Stepping out to promote her hit show “New Girl,” Zooey Deschanel paid a visit to “The Late Show with David Letterman” last night (May 7).

The “Failure to Launch” lady looked gorgeous as she chatted with Dave about bringing her two dogs with her from California to New York City.

Deschanel began, “They’re mutts. They’re very cute. Their names are Zelda and Dot. They’re very sweet dogs- two girls- and they love each other. They were actually turned into the shelter together so I adopted them together.”

“It’s a little bit chaotic for them because they’re California dogs. They move at a slower pace, more like surfer dogs… They do get along with other dogs, but one of them, Dot, she tends to bark at the bigger dogs when she wants them to play with her. And she doesn’t understand English- I can’t explain to her that if you bark at a big dog it thinks you’re picking a fight with them.”
