Description
Make your own reuben sandwiches that rival any restaurant's. They're made with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and a homemade Russian dressing in between store bought dark rye bread.
Ingredients
- Sandwiches:
- 1/2 lb. corned beef
- 1/2 t. olive oil
- 6 slices dark rye bread or your favorite rye bread
- 2 T. unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 c. sauerkraut, well drained
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- Homemade Russian Dressing:
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 t. chili garlic sauce
- 1/2 t. lemon juice
- 1 t. creamy horseradish
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 T. onion, finely grated
- 1/8 t. paprika
- salt and pepper, to taste
Steps
- Combine all of the Russian dressing ingredients in a small bowl; set aside.
- Add the olive oil to a large skillet. Once hot, add corned beef; cook over medium heat until the meat is warmed.
- Butter one side of each bread slice; place bread on a platter with the buttered sides down.
