Description
This spaghetti is a definite must if you are feeding a crowd. It requires minimal work, easy clean up and a comforting, delicious pasta meal that tastes like it was cooked all day.
Ingredients
2 lb. ground beef or Italian sausage
1 medium onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 - 24 oz. jars pasta sauce, your favorite
14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes, optional
2 t. Italian seasoning
1 t. sugar
1 t. salt, or to taste
1/2 t. black pepper
1 lb. spaghetti pasta, broken in half
4 c. water or low-sodium beef broth
1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese, for optional topping
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat with the onion and garlic until browned. Discard excess fat.
Add the meat mixture to a slow cooker. Stir in pasta sauce, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover; cook on Low for 4–5 hours or on High 2–3 hours.
About 30–40 minutes before serving, stir in pasta and water or broth. Press the pasta down cover in sauce.
Cover. Cook on High for 30–40 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until pasta is tender.
If desired, sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of cooking; allow it to melt.
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley or basil.
8-10 servings.
