This simple to prepare pasta dish isn't simple tasting. These cheese filled tortellini are smothered in a velvety garlic cream sauce that is just as delicious as it sounds.
Ingredients
- 2 c. cheese tortellini pasta, fresh or frozen
- 2 T. salted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 t. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/8 t. freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 2 t. freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving, if desired
- freshly chopped parsley, for garnish
Steps
- Bring a large pot of well salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini; cook until al dente, about 7-9 minutes for frozen and a little less for fresh. Reserve 1 c. pasta cooking water for later use; drain the tortellini.
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 1 minute until garlic is fragrant.
- Add the heavy cream; bring to a light simmer; cook for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
