Description
This super quick and simple pasta dish is made in less than 30 minutes with just 7 ingredients. It's a traditional Sicilian pasta that's satisfying, delicious, rich and creamy.
Ingredients
- 12 oz. short cut pasta, like penne, bowtie, rotini, rigatoni
- 3/4 c. shelled pistachios, unsalted (cut back on salt if using salted)
- 1/4-1/2 c. onion, finely chopped, optional
- 2 T. olive oil
- 1 c. heavy cream
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 t. black pepper
Steps
- Add the pistachios to a food processor; grind to a coarse texture or chop by hand for bigger pieces.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil; cook pasta according to the package directions.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat; add the onions; sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
