You'll love this hearty, satisfying and comforting meal that's easily made in the slow cooker. It's flavorful and full of the rich flavors of kielbasa sausage, potatoes and cabbage.
Ingredients
- 12 oz. kielbasa sausage, sliced (pork or beef)
- 5 small russet potatoes, diced
- 1/2 head cabbage, chopped (about 6 c.)
- 1 white onion, sliced
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. black pepper
- 1 t. dried thyme
- 1 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 1/8 t. cayenne pepper, optional
Steps
- Slice the kielbasa into bite-sized pieces. Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat.
- Transfer the sausage to the slow cooker; add the potatoes, cabbage, onion, salt, pepper, thyme, chicken broth, and cayenne pepper, if using. Stir.
- Cover the slow cooker; cook on Low for 6 hours. DO NOT open the lid during cooking to keep the heat consistent.
