This recipe makes the best ham salad ever. It makes a lot, so it is perfect to make for a crowd. If you don't need that much, cut the recipe in half. Serve it on buns, bread, or with crackers as an appetizer.
6 cups ham, coarsely ground
4 eggs, hard boiled and chopped
1 cup celery, finely chopped
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
1 cup mayonnaise
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Make sandwiches or serve on lettuce with crackers. This makes a large bowl of salad and keeps well in the refrigerator for several days.
