Description
An Italian Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 large cans diced tomatoes with basil
- 1/2 to 2/3 cup olive oil, just enough to coat the bottom of the pan
- 2 whole bulbs of garlic, pealed and sliced 3-4 times longways
- I/2 bunch Italian parsley, cleaned and chopped
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Steps
- Heat oil on low flame, add garlic. Do not brown. In 1 minute add parsley till it cooks flat. Stir and cook about 1 1/2 minutes. Then add canned tomatoes, stir. Stir with a wooden spoon. Continually spoon off orange, bubbly liquid and discard. Add. basil, oregano and black pepper. Cook on low 45 to 60 minutes.
