8 uncooked bratwurst, your choice of flavor
1-14 oz. can sauerkraut, rinsed and well- drained
2 apples, peeled and finely chopped
3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
1 t. ground mustard
8 buns
Line a slow-cooker with a slow-cooker liner for easy clean-up.
Combine sauerkraut, apples, bacon, brown sugar, onion and mustard in 5 quart slow-cooker, place bratwurst on top , stir and spoon mixture over meat.
Cover, cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Serve brats in buns; top with sauerkraut mixture.
