It's time to get out the slow-cooker and let all of your fall flavors work together in one great dish! Make this delicious, savory with a hint of sweet chicken topped with a salty cheese and use them to make the best pulled chicken sandwich ever!
Ingredients
- 1 apple, peeled and sliced (Braeburns or Galas work well)
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. pepper
- 1 t. paprika
- 2 t. dry mustard
- 12 oz.hard cider
- 12-16 slices of sourdough or your favorite bread, toasted
- 8 oz. sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
Steps
- Line slow-cooker with a slow-cooker liner for easy clean up.
- Place onion and apple slices on the bottom of the slow- cooker. Lay the chicken breasts on top of the apples and onions, and sprinkle on salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard. Pour the hard cider on top.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until chicken shreds easily.
