A St. Louis pasta favorite.
14 oz. medium shells
2 bunches fresh broccoli
1/2 lb. fresh cleaned, sliced mushrooms
4 T. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 cups half and half (1 pint)
1- 8oz. can tomato sauce
1 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 t. pepper
1/4 t. garlic, about 1 clove
Cook shells 10 minutes. Drain. cook broccoli 5 minutes. Drain. Saute mushrooms and garlic in butter. Remove from butter
Add flour to butter and stir until well mixed. Add 1/2 and 1/2. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
Add tomato sauce, mushrooms, cheese, pepper and garlic. Mix with shells and broccoli. Bake at 350 degree for 30 minutes.
