Description
This recipe is much easier to make than stuffed peppers and just as good. If needed, this dish can be made in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground turkey or lean beef
- 1 qt. water
- 1 box beef stock
- 1-28 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1-28 oz. can diced tomatoes with Italian seasonings, undrained
- 2 c. cooked long grain rice
- 2 c. chopped green peppers
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 t. salt
- 2 t. beef bouillon granules
- 1 t. pepper
- garlic powder, to taste
Steps
- In a Dutch oven, cook meat over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until peppers are tender.
- 10 servings (2-1/2 quarts)
