You will want to add this to your recipe box once you have made this just once. The sauce over the meatballs is very creamy and has a great, delicious flavor!
1 lb. lean ground beef, or 1/2 lb. lean ground beef and 1/2 lb. ground veal, or 1/2 lb. lean groud beef and 1/2 lb. ground sausage
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1/4 t. ground nutmeg
2 T. vegetable oil
hot cooked noodles
Stroganoff Sauce:
1 T. butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/3 c. sour cream
1/4 c. milk
1/4 t. paprika
In medium bowl, mix thoroughly meat, bread crumbs, onion, egg and nutmeg. Shape mixture into small meatballs.
Add oil to a large skillet and over medium heat, brown meatballs a few at a time until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink. Spoon off grease.
For Sauce:
In 1 1/2 qt. saucepan over medium heat, in hot butter, cook onion until tender. Stir in soup, sour cream, milk and paprika. Heat through, stirring often.
Serve meatballs and sauce over hot noodles.
