Enjoy beef stroganoff with round steak, mushrooms, onion, Dijon served on a bed of rice or egg noodles. Top with dried dill to make the flavors pop! It would be good served with mashed potatoes as well.
1lb. round top steak, trimmed and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
1 c. chopped onion
2 T. fresh parsley
2 T. Dijon mustard
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. dried dill
1/2 t. black pepper
8 oz. sliced mushrooms, about 2 c.
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 c. flour
1 c. beef broth
2 T. cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
Place a slow cooker liner in the base of the crock for easy clean up.
Place steak, onion, parsley, mustard, salt, dill, pepper,mushrooms, and garlic into the slow cooker. Stir well.
In a small bowl combine flour, Worcestershire, and broth, whisking until well blended.
Add broth mixture to slow cooker, stir well.
Cover with lid, cook on high heat for 1 hour, then reduce heat to low and cook for another 7 - 8 hours or until steak is tender.
Before serving, stir in the cream cheese, and cook covered on high for another 10 minutes.
Stir in the sour cream, then serve over rice or egg noodles or along side of mashed potatoes.
Garnish with fresh dill or parsley.
