Make your own restaurant type fried chicken in the comfort of your own home with this recipe. Not everyone lives close enough to the restaurant to buy their chicken and some just prefer to make their own delicious meal.
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 beaten eggs
4 T. oil
coating:
2 c. flour
4 t. paprika
2 1/2 t. salt
1 t. pepper
1 t. poultry seasoning
1 t. thyme
1 t. oregano
1 t. tarragon
1/2 t. garlic salt
1/2 t. onion salt
1/2 t. celery salt
keptchup, optional
Sift together all the coating ingredients. Place mixture in a clean plastic bag. Coat each chicken piece first with the beaten egg and then with the flour mixture in the bag. Make sure each piece is coated completely with flour.
Heat oil in a skillet. Brown chicken in oil slowly, uncovered. Once browned, keep frying on a gentle heat while keeping the skillet covered, until the chicken is fully cooked.
Place on paper towels to drain.
