Description
This is a blinged up hamburger with delicious mushroom gravy. So you can have a wonderful meal on a hamburger budget. Add mashed potatoes and a veggie for a great meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- ½ c. finely diced onion
- 2 c. panko bread crumbs
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 T. fresh parsley, minced
- 1 T. shallot, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 t. freshly ground black pepper
- ½ t. kosher salt
- 2 T. butter, for frying
- gravy:
- 1 T. butter
- 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
- 2 shallots, thinly sliced
- 1 T. fresh thyme leaves, minced
- 2 c. beef broth
- 2 T. flour
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- fresh parsley for garnish, if desired
Steps
- steak:
- Combine ingredients for the steaks and form into 3 to 4 oval shaped patties. Melt butter in a skillet, saute patties 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat until nicely browned. Remove from pan. Set aside.
