Serve this delicious white cheese dip before that Mexican dinner that you made or just serve it for a snack. It is quick and amazingly good.
1 lb. white American cheese, cubed
1/2 c. milk or as needed
7 oz. can chopped green chilies
1 T. oil
1 freshly ground black pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
fresh cilantro or sliced jalapenos, if desired, for garnish
Place a medium sized saucepan over medium-high heat and add oil. Add garlic; cook until fragrant.
Add cubed cheese and milk (begin with 1/2 cup and add more milk to desired thicness, if needed), stirring often, until completely melted. Add green chilies and pepper.
Serve hot with freshly snipped cilantro or sliced jalapenos, for garnish, if desired.
